Japanese Katakana Dictionary - Turkish Delight

ターキッシュ・ディライト

English:
Turkish Delight

Katakana:
ターキッシュ・ディライト

Romanization:
taakisshu deraito
(extra s represents a stop sound or double consonance between ki and shu sound)

I loved to visit my grandpa when I was a kid. He always had tins and tins of British sweets ready for me to eat. After I read Narnia, I thought Turkish Delight tasted like the candies my grandpa had.

With the movie Narnia being shown worldwide, I found Turkish Delight’s recipe at Yahoo Japan’s Narnia official site.

To my surprise, Turkish Delight is only normal gum drop square. What is so special about gum drop square?
